Hood Fitment Information

Because our hoods are 3D printed and very thin, they can sometimes flatten slightly during shipping or storage. If your hood does not conform properly to the shape of the body, do not force it into place or glue it down flat.

To reshape the hood, gently warm it using one of the following methods:

  • Place it in warm water for a short time until it becomes slightly flexible.
  • Hold it in front of a space heater or use a hair dryer for approximately 30–40 seconds, just long enough to soften the part slightly.

Once warm, gently bend the hood back to match the contour of the body and hold it in position while it cools.

Do not overheat the part or place it too close to the heat source, as excessive heat can warp or damage it.

This is normal with very thin 3D printed parts and does not mean the hood is defective.

    Care & Handling

    Jaye's Model Garage parts are manufactured using a premium ABS-like resin chosen for its durability and improved impact resistance compared to many standard model resins. This material offers greater flexibility while maintaining the crisp detail needed for high-quality scale models.

    While our ABS-like resin is less brittle than conventional resins, some parts feature extremely fine details and thin sections to accurately replicate full-size components. Please handle all parts with care during cleanup, test fitting, assembly, and painting.

    Using sharp hobby tools, light sanding, and proper modeling techniques will help ensure the best results.

    These products are intended for experienced model builders and are not toys.
